About the Fishing
The estate’s private lake offers views of the Northern Fells and the Scottish Hills, it is a naturally stocked 8-acre, ‘old English’ Carp fishing lake with two islands. It’s the only one of its kind in Great Britain.
A quiet day’s fishing is available to guests staying at North Lakes Lodges.

We have a select fishing syndicate and do not allow day tickets, we do allow guests at North Lakes Lodges to fish the lake by prior arrangement, please telephone Brayton Park if you wish to fish on the Carp Lake during your stay.
It is one of the few specimen waters left in the UK, which is the home of Old English Carp, more commonly known as wild carp
Carp angling is a specialist sport, it is not only the equipment needed but the knowledge of how to handle these beautiful condition specimen fish, as such we do not retain any angling equipment for common angling guest rental.
Brayton Lake has a small syndicate of members and lodge residents can fish the pond, however we do not sell day tickets.
