The Western Lake District

Home Farm, Brayton park, is the ideal base to discover the Western Lakes District which includes - Bassenthwaite & Derwentwater, Loweswater, Ennerdalwater, Buttermere & Crummockwater, Watwater ( Britains favourite View 2009). The beauty and tranquility of this area is in stark contrast to the hustle and bustle & mass of people and tourists of the traditional Lake District haunts. Some say it is the intelligent Lakeland visitor that gets to these parts! However if you want to visit the traditional vistor areas of Keswick, Gramere, Ambleside, Windermere, Hawkshead & Coniston, you could do worse than looking at a route to take in all these sites and come back over the world famous Hardknott Pass.
